The ISO 9001 Certification

InControl Marketing have been granted ISO 9001 certification – woohoo to us!

Wasn’t overly rigorous as we were doing a lot of it anyway or at least moving in that direction, so nice to have confirmation of our direction of travel. Received great help from Dan and Perry at ISO Quality Services Ltd.

We’re a great believer in the value of pursuing process and procedure changes so long as they tie in with our aspiration of encouraging relevant communications to relevant people at relevant times and driving forward with the mantra of wanting happy, engaged and educated users of the Marketing Portal.

Roll on ISO 27001 – next on the hit list

Keeping Hearts Beating

Introducing Keeping Hearts Beating the Office Supplies initiative to increase the number of publicly accessible defibrillators.

Increased community engagement through initiatives such as Keeping Hearts Beating (KHB) is a great differentiator and can bring significant value to both you and your locale.

It may help that The Boss Federation are also partnering with this life saving initiative and are offering a limited number of grants to businesses wishing to engage with it.

To help you further we’ve posted a suite of collateral on your Marketing Portal.

We’re all very grateful that we’re seeing a growing number of businesses using KHB very effectively to engage with their communities and at the same time drive deeper customer and prospect interaction for themselves, a rare ‘win-win’ in these turbulent times.

No doubt you will have seen all the media coverage of many high profile sudden cardiac arrests in the last year or so, not least at Fulham FC only this weekend, and with this in mind the time to act is now and we urge you to consider getting involved.

Should you require any more information, please review the content in your Marketing Portal account. If you have a PDF Only account and would like to upgrade, please contact us.

More information can also be found on the Keeping Hearts Beating website

Gift Giving at Christmas

Gift-giving is nearly always a cause for worry and concern.

The usual questions float around your mind – will they like the gift? Will they use it? Will it sit in a cupboard and never see the light of day?

We are living in an increasingly materialistic world, however many of us would prefer to give and receive a gift that has a lot more thought and meaning behind it over a big, expensive and flashy present.

Despite living in a ‘material world’, sustainably and ethically sourced products and subscriptions are a huge success, as well as being kinder to the planet! Christmas this year has snuck up so quickly, and many of us don’t know whether we are coming or going and who is getting what gifts! Ethical gift subscriptions can save so much time, hassle and stress as you know that your friends and family will be receiving a wonderful gift with lots of thought behind it.

We can all play our part this Christmas in the type of gifts we give and do our bit to look after the planet in the process!

National Simplicity Day

“As you simplify your life, the laws of the universe will be simpler.”
Henry David Thoreau believed in and advocated for simple living, for the need for people to simplify their life – to get rid of unnecessary material possessions and to be close to nature.
In today’s fast-paced, hectic world we are surrounded by so much noise, stress and incessant ‘busyness’ that we rarely take a moment to let ourselves just ‘be’. We are on a constant hamster-wheel of working, raising families and maintaining social lives, that we do just forget that we are allowed to unwind and that it is okay to distance ourselves from other people and technology.
The fact that so many of us are glued to our electronic devices makes it difficult for us to enjoy the simpler things in life. National Simplicity Day is celebrated on the 12th of July to honour Henry David Thoreau’s birthday, but just because we celebrate this day on the 12th, doesn’t mean that we can’t try to simplify our own lives and make every day less hectic!
Thoreau believed that simplicity was key in achieving true happiness, inner peace and a well-lived life. We constantly push ourselves to achieve our dreams and goals, but are these just ideals that are set out by us living in a fast-paced society? We are so focused on material possessions, on owning the best of the best and trying to beat everyone else around us to achieve this, that we are ignoring our own thoughts and feelings and ultimately disregarding our own mental state and what we truly need. Without simplicity, Thoreau was adamant that we can’t live a truly happy or fulfilled life.
Living through the current global pandemic has meant that many of us have had more time than usual to slow down, to take life and all that it throws at us with a more casual stance. We have been ‘gifted’ time for reflection, for sitting in moments of calm amongst the storm of Covid-19 and being able to take a step-back from our usual realities.
We need to celebrate the simple things in life, to appreciate each other and ourselves. We have all been through so much in the past year that we should allow ourselves more time to unwind and to enjoy the smallest of things.
At inControl Marketing, we are proud to work hard to bring you outstanding marketing, to help you and your business to perform at its best, but that doesn’t mean that we don’t believe in taking a step back from the ‘work reality’ that we pride ourselves in.
You can help yourself to unwind by following a few simple ideas –
Unplug your gadgets. De-clutter your home. Go out and celebrate nature. Allow yourself to unwind.
Life is about the enjoying the journey, don’t become so focused on the destination that you forget to appreciate the little moments along the way.
